AccuWeather Partners with Samsung TV Plus

“AccuWeather’s new partnership with Samsung TV Plus expands access of our forecasts and warnings to tens of millions of Samsung TV Plus families,” said Steven R. Smith, a representative from AccuWeather. This collaboration marks a significant step in improving the accessibility of weather information, especially as severe weather conditions are anticipated across the central United States.

As of March 6, 2026, AccuWeather NOW is now available on Samsung TV Plus, featuring 24 hours of continuous programming dedicated to weather updates. This service aims to provide timely forecasts and warnings to viewers, particularly as severe thunderstorms are expected to impact areas from the Plains states to the Ozarks and Midwest.

On this day, over 7 million Americans are at the highest risk of severe weather, with Oklahoma, Kansas City, Tulsa, Omaha, Dallas, Oklahoma City, Milwaukee, New York City, Chicago, and Detroit being among the affected locations. The impending severe weather comes at a critical time, as many areas are transitioning into what is traditionally known as tornado season.

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt commented on the situation, stating, “Severe weather struck Major County last night and tragically claimed the lives of a mother and daughter.” This tragic event underscores the urgency for accurate and timely weather information, which AccuWeather aims to provide through its new service.

In addition to the severe thunderstorms, a storm is forecast to bring disruptive snow and ice to parts of the Midwest and Northeast next week. Expected snowfall ranges from 1-3 inches in parts of the Midwest, with North and South Dakota possibly seeing 3-6 inches. Meanwhile, temperatures in New York City are projected to fluctuate significantly, with highs around 50°F on Saturday, dropping to the 30s on Sunday and 20s by Monday.

Melissa Mayes, a meteorologist, noted, “This is probably our first real event this season where people are really starting to pay attention getting into the spring storm season.” This statement reflects the heightened awareness and preparedness that accompanies the onset of severe weather patterns typical for this time of year.

As the situation develops, the exact track and intensity of the upcoming storm next week remains unclear. Details remain unconfirmed, but the partnership between AccuWeather and Samsung TV Plus is expected to play a crucial role in keeping the public informed and safe during these potentially hazardous weather events.
