Catherine McGonagle, Glencolmcille

The passing of Catherine McGonagle (née Carr), Killaned, Glencolmcille, Donegal, F94 T9T0, has been announced. She departed peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 91.

Catherine was predeceased by her husband Michael, her daughters Bríd and Angela, as well as her parents, brothers Jimmy and Paddy, and sisters Mary, Annie, and Bridget. She is fondly remembered by her daughter Geraldine, son-in-law Tommy (Breslin), and cherished granddaughter Saoirse, along with her sister Veronica (Conoghan), nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Her remains will be reposing at Shovlin’s Funeral Home, Sandfield, Ardara F94 A250 from 3 to 5pm this evening (Monday, March 2), followed by removal to her late residence for 6pm to 9pm. Reposing will continue at her home from 1 to 9pm on Tuesday, March 3.

On Wednesday, March 4th, her remains will be taken to St Columba’s Church, Glencolmcille for an 11am Requiem Mass, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. The funeral mass can be viewed live here.

James Slevin, Ballyshannon

James Slevin, of The Mall, Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal F94 A6W0, has passed away peacefully, receiving exceptional care from the dedicated staff at Ballyshannon Community Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his wife Maureen and is sadly missed by his family.

James is survived by his children Eamonn (Anne), Paul (Christina), Brona (Sean), and Avril, along with his five grandchildren: Mollie, Katie, Shona, Aimee Beth, and Cillian.

His remains will repose at his residence on Tuesday, March 3 from 2pm to 8pm. The house will be private to family outside of reposing times and on the morning of the funeral.

On Wednesday, his remains will be removed from his residence at 10:30am to arrive at St. Patrick’s Church, Ballyshannon for the Mass of the Resurrection at 11am, followed by interment in Abbey Assaroe Cemetery. The funeral Mass shall be live-streamed here.

Brigid Bradley, Buncrana

The peaceful passing of Brigid (Bridie) Bradley occurred at her home in England, surrounded by her family, on February 16, 2026. She was formerly of Castle Park, Buncrana.

Bridie will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her partner Anthony, children Siobhan and Mark, and son-in-law Paul. She is deeply regretted by her siblings Annie, Oliver (deceased), Danny, Jimmy (deceased), Mary (deceased), Norah, Lawrence, Peter, Bernadette, John, and Martina, along with her extended family, neighbours, and friends.

Bridie will be reposing at her former residence, 37 Castle Park, Buncrana from 5pm on Monday, March 2. Her remains will be removed from there on Tuesday at 6:30 pm to St Mary’s Church, Cockhill, where she will repose overnight.

Requiem Mass will take place on Wednesday at 11 am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. The Mass can be viewed live on www.churchservices.tv/cockhill.

Josephine Houghton, Carndonagh

Josephine Houghton has peacefully passed away at Letterkenny University Hospital, Corvish, Carndonagh. She was the beloved wife of John and a much-loved mother to Sean and Anne.

Josephine was predeceased by her six siblings and is a dear sister to Maureen, Alice, John, Pauline, Noeleen, and Anne. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Edward, Katie, and Chloe, her daughter-in-law Sue, her son-in-law Paddy, and her nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and neighbours.

Josephine’s remains will leave Kelly’s Funeral Home on Monday, March 3 at 4:00pm, going to her late residence. Removal will occur from there on Wednesday at 10:30am, heading to the Church of the Sacred Heart for an 11:00am Requiem Mass, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. The Requiem Mass can be viewed live on Carndonagh Parish, Derry Diocese, Ireland.

Rosary will take place at 9:00pm at the wake house on Tuesday. Family time is requested from 10:00pm to 11:00am. Family flowers only, with donations in lieu to the Carndonagh Community Hospital Patients Comfort Fund c/o any family member or Blaine McCarron, Kelly’s Funeral Directors.

Rose Doherty, Bunbeg

Rose Doherty has passed away at Dungloe Community Hospital, Magheraclogher, Bunbeg. She was predeceased by her parents, Kitty and Micí Eoghan Eoin, as well as her brothers and sisters.

Rose will be sadly missed by her daughter, Bernadette Doherty, granddaughter Shannon Doherty (Donal), great-grandchildren Dáire & Lorcan Walsh, sister Sheila (London), brothers Condy & Owen, and her nieces, nephews, and extended family & friends.

Her remains will repose at her home in Magheraclogher (F92 X2W9) today (Mon) from 4pm to 8pm and tomorrow from 12pm to 8pm. Rosary will be recited nightly at 8pm.

The house will be private after Rosary and on the morning of the Funeral. Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday at 11am in The Church of the Sacred Heart, Dunlewey, with burial afterwards in Magheragallon cemetery. Elizabeth Mary Reid, Killygordon

Elizabeth Mary (Lily) Reid, neé Kee, has peacefully passed away at her home in Bohanboy, Killygordon (F93EO44). She was predeceased by her late husband Robert.

Lily was a much-loved mother to Robert (Carol), Edward (Anna), Jayne (Marcus), Andrew (Carol), and Sarah (Derek). She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, her sister Greta, brother William, nieces, nephews, and wider family circle.

Lily will repose at her home from 6pm to 9pm on Monday, March 2, and from 2pm to 9pm on Tuesday. Her funeral will leave from there on Wednesday at 1:15pm, heading to Donoughmore Presbyterian Church for a 2pm Service of Thanksgiving for her life, followed by burial in the adjoining graveyard.

Family time is requested on the morning of the funeral. Family flowers only, with donations in lieu to the Donegal Hospice, care of any family member or Terence McClintock Funeral Director.

Seamus Doherty, Buncrana

Seamus Doherty has passed away at Letterkenny University Hospital, Ballynary, Buncrana. He was predeceased by his parents Annie and James PIP.

Seamus will be sadly missed by his cousins, relatives, and friends. His remains will repose at McLaughlin’s Funeral Home, Buncrana from 5pm to 8pm on Monday, March 2 and from 2:30pm until 6:30 pm on Tuesday.

Funeral from there on Wednesday, March 4 at 12:30 pm, going to St Mary’s Church, Cockhill for a 1pm requiem Mass, with burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.

Daniel McCarthy, Maynooth and Bundoran

The death has occurred of Daniel McCarthy, Laurence Avenue, Maynooth, formerly of Bundoran and Newbridge, Co Kildare. He passed away peacefully at The Residence Nursing Home, Maynooth, surrounded by his loving family.

Daniel was pre-deceased by his loving wife Mary, parents Paddy and Mary, brothers Padraig and Declan, and sister Kathleen. He is deeply regretted and sadly missed by his children Ronan, Lorna, and Donal, friend Pat, daughters-in-law Sam, Aline, Suzie, and Mary, son-in-law Paul, and adored grandchildren Jodie, Abi, Louis, and Sophie.

His remains will repose at Oliver Reilly’s Funeral Home, Leinster St., Maynooth (W23V99E) on Wednesday, March 4 from 4pm – 8pm, with evening prayers at 7:30pm. Removal from the Funeral Home on Thursday at approximately 10:30am to arrive at St. Mary’s Church, Maynooth for an 11am Funeral Mass, followed by cremation in Newlands Cross Crematorium at approximately 1pm.

Stephen Corbett, Buncrana

Stephen Corbett has passed away at Letterkenny University Hospital, 9 Cockhill Road, Buncrana, formerly of Limerick City. He was the loving partner of Janet Dunne and dear father of James and Robert.

Stephen will be deeply regretted and forever missed by his loving partner, sons, grandchildren, partner’s sons, extended family, and friends. His remains will be removed from Murphy’s Funeral Home (F93PW96) on Monday, March 2 at 5:00pm to his late residence.

Stephen’s remains will be reposing from 7:00pm, where all are welcome to pay their respects. Removal from there on Tuesday at 10:30am to St. Mary’s Church, Cockhill for Requiem Mass at 11:00am, followed by removal to Thompson’s Funeral Home, Limerick City. The Requiem Mass can be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/cockhill.

Family time is requested from 10:00pm and on the morning of the funeral.
