Production for Season 3 Begins
Production for Season 3 of One Piece Netflix has begun in Cape Town, South Africa. The series, based on Eiichiro Oda’s popular manga, continues to expand its live-action adaptation following the success of its previous seasons.
The original Straw Hat crew returns, featuring Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Additionally, returning cast members for Season 3 include Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday, Mikaela Hoover as Tony Tony Chopper, Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0, Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday, and Sendhil Ramamurthy as Nefartari Cobra.
Hoover, Manganiello, Abova, and Ramamurthy have been promoted to series regulars for the upcoming season. New additions include Xolo Maridueña, who will portray Portgas D. Ace, and Cole Escola, who will take on the role of Bon Clay.
Season 2 of One Piece was released on March 10, 2026, consisting of 16 episodes. The new episodes received a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes from critics, while audience ratings stood at 95%. Critics praised the second season, with one stating, “Even after an excellent first season, One Piece Season 2 feels like a wildly impressive level-up in many respects.” Another noted, “For new viewers, it adds depth. For longtime fans, it is the chance to see moments they assumed would never make it to live action.”
The show was renewed for Season 3 in August 2023, and it is expected to premiere between mid-to-late 2027 or early 2028. Netflix has teased that the Straw Hats will face new challenges with additional Baroque Works agents appearing as recurring guest stars in Season 3.
As production continues, fans are encouraged to keep an eye on updates from Netflix. “Keep sailing back to Tudum for more news about ONE PIECE and rewatch the first season right here,” the platform stated.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding specific plot points and additional casting announcements for the upcoming season.
