In a village in West Yorkshire, three individuals have been taken into custody regarding a stabbing incident that has left a man in critical condition.

Victim’s Condition Update

Emergency services were summoned shortly before 10am this morning (Sunday, March 1st, 2026) following a report of an individual suffering from a stab wound at the intersection of Main Street and Iron Row in Burley in Wharfedale.

A man, thought to be in his thirties, was transported to the hospital for care, where he is currently in a critical state.

A man aged 30 was taken into custody at a nearby location on charges of attempted murder.

Arrests Made in Investigation

Two women, each 23 years old, have been detained on charges of plotting to commit murder.

Everyone is being held for interrogation.

Law enforcement activity continues on Main Street and Iron Row.

Emergency Response Details

According to DCI Michael Cox of West Yorkshire Police:

“Several police investigations are currently underway regarding what has evidently been a very serious attack on an individual in Burley in Wharfedale.

“We understand that this event may raise concerns within the community, but I want to reassure residents that we believe this situation was both isolated and intentional, and we have all the necessary resources available in the area to thoroughly investigate what occurred.

“Law enforcement operations will persist at various sites throughout the day, and we are requesting anyone with information to come forward.”

The CID in Bradford District is seeking information and video footage as their investigation progresses.
