Central line incident causes service disruption
The Central line is currently suspended between Liverpool Street and White City due to a casualty on the track. Severe delays are also affecting the rest of the Central line, as emergency services respond to the situation.
Emergency services were called to Notting Hill Gate Underground station at around 4:15 PM, where a person was taken to hospital with non life-threatening or life-changing injuries. A spokesperson for British Transport Police confirmed, “Officers were called at around 4.15pm today, Thursday, March 12, to reports of a casualty on the tracks at Notting Hill Gate Underground station.”
The incident is not being treated as suspicious, according to authorities. Passengers are advised to check live travel updates before setting off, as the disruption is expected to continue for some time.
Transport for London (TfL) has announced that it is accepting tickets on London Buses, Chiltern Railways, Great Western Railway, and Greater Anglia services to assist affected passengers. Alternative routes include using the Circle line or Hammersmith & City line, although this may require some walking.
A TfL spokesperson stated, “No service between Liverpool Street and White City while emergency services deal with a casualty on the track.” This incident has caused significant inconvenience for commuters and travelers in the area.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding the full extent of the delays and the expected time for service restoration. Observers are monitoring the situation closely as emergency services continue their work on the scene.
