Row K is currently navigating a challenging landscape as it reappraises its business model following significant financial losses. The company recently reported a staggering loss of around $10 million from the January release of ‘Dead Man’s Wire’, which has raised concerns about its viability moving forward.
In light of these setbacks, Megan Colligan and two other senior executives are reportedly in talks to leave Row K. This potential exodus comes at a critical juncture for the company, which is backed by Media Capital Technologies (MCT) and has recently acquired four films at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
One of the films, ‘Poetic License’, is set to go back on the market after being championed by Colligan, indicating a shift in strategy as the company seeks to recover from its financial woes.
Meanwhile, in a separate but noteworthy event, a fire broke out at Inferno, a sun bed business on the Antrim Road, prompting emergency services to respond at around 7 pm. Local resident Cathy Toal reported, “I got a call at about 7pm about the fire. When I got here, the place was cordoned off and the fire service were here already.” Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
In another development, Sean Phelps and Jonny Towers recently completed a remarkable journey, rowing 3,200 miles from Lanzarote to Antigua. They arrived a day ahead of schedule, greeted by cheering crowds, and have raised £15,928.84 of their £50,000 target for charity.
Phelps expressed pride in their achievement, stating, “I think it’s an amazing thing to do and I’ve watched a few events and I want to just make my family proud of that, proud of their dad and husband.” Towers added, “To support the two great charities we’re doing it for – Care After Combat and Samaritans – we’ve both lost friends through mental health problems and suicide.”
As Row K grapples with its internal challenges, observers are keenly watching how the company will adapt to its evolving circumstances. The decisions made in the coming weeks will be crucial for its future stability and success.
