Stabbing Incident at Thorpe St Andrew School
A teenage girl was stabbed at Thorpe St Andrew School in Norwich at approximately 10:20am on March 11, 2026. The victim was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, while a 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Following the incident, the school went into lockdown, which lasted for over an hour. Parents were informed and rushed to the school during this time, creating a tense atmosphere as the community reacted to the shocking news.

Owen Jenkins, from the Broad Horizons Education Trust, stated, “This has obviously been a distressing experience for our whole community.” Ian Mackie, a Norfolk County Councillor, expressed his concern, saying, “Our first thoughts are very much with the girl and her family, the whole community is shocked and will want to join me in sending our best wishes for her recovery from this traumatic experience.”
Students at the school expressed their fears, with one stating, “I am very scared,” while another added, “I just want to go home.” The incident has left many in the community shaken.
Authorities have indicated that the stabbing is not believed to be linked to a recent antisemitic hate crime at the school, which had previously been the focus of a police investigation into alleged antisemitic abuse.
